Amcron MT-1200

I use a monitoring amp to power my subwoofers : Amcron (Crown) Micro-Tech 1200. These are heavy-duty amps, they are very efficient and they have no problem delivering a lot of power. The damping factor is very good (greater than 1000). Pluging 2 ohm speakers is not a problem.

This amp is also neutral and have a linear response. You can use it on Hi-Fi speakers or doing multi-amping. Unlike what people think, monitoring amps are very good, this is because they only know piece of junk like Boost amps.

This amp is a good part of my sound system. The low frequecies are very tight. The amp is mastering the speaker and not the opposite.

The crossover frequency is set to 80hz or 120hz, depending on the kind of music and the way I want to listen. This is an advantage of bi-amping.
